1Kgs 19:1
Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and how ahe had killed all the prophets with the sword.
καὶ ἀνήγγειλεν Αχααβ τῇ Ιεζαβελ γυναικὶ αὐτοῦ πάντα, ἐποίησεν Ηλιου, Καὶ ὡς ἀπέκτεινεν τοὺς προφήτας ἐν ῥομφαίᾳ.
וַיַּגֵּד אַחְאָב לְאִיזֶבֶל אֵת כָּל־אֲשֶׁר עָשָׂה אֵלִיָּהוּ וְאֵת כָּל־אֲשֶׁר הָרַג אֶת־כָּל־הַנְּבִיאִים בֶּחָֽרֶב׃
1Kgs 19:2
Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, bSo may the gods do to me and more also, if I do not make your life as the life of one of them by this time tomorrow.”
καὶ ἀπέστειλεν Ιεζαβελ, πρὸς Ηλιου καὶ εἶπεν εἶ σὺ Εἰ ηλιου καὶ ἐγὼ ιεζαβελ τάδε ποιήσαι μοι θεὸς καὶ τάδε προσθείη, ὅτι ταύτην τὴν ὥραν αὔριον θήσομαι τὴν ψυχήν σου καθὼς ψυχὴν ἑνὸς ἐξ αὐτῶν.
וַתִּשְׁלַח אִיזֶבֶל מַלְאָךְ אֶל־אֵלִיָּהוּ לֵאמֹר כֹּֽה־יַעֲשׂוּן אֱלֹהִים וְכֹה יוֹסִפוּן כִּֽי־כָעֵת מָחָר אָשִׂים אֶֽת־נַפְשְׁךָ כְּנֶפֶשׁ אַחַד מֵהֶֽם׃
1Kgs 19:3
Then he was afraid, and he arose and ran for his life and came to cBeersheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his servant there.

καὶ ἐφοβήθη Ηλιου καὶ ἀνέστη καὶ ἀπῆλθεν κατὰ τὴν ψυχὴν ἑαυτοῦ καὶ ἔρχεται εἰς Βηρσαβεε τὴν Ιουδα καὶ ἀφῆκεν τὸ παιδάριον αὐτοῦ ἐκεῖ·
וַיַּרְא וַיָּקָם וַיֵּלֶךְ אֶל־נַפְשׁוֹ וַיָּבֹא בְּאֵר שֶׁבַע אֲשֶׁר לִֽיהוּדָה וַיַּנַּח אֶֽת־נַעֲרוֹ שָֽׁם׃
1Kgs 19:4
But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness and came and sat down under a broom tree. dAnd he asked that he might die, saying, “It is enough; now, O Lord, take away my life, for I am no better than my fathers.”
καὶ αὐτὸς ἐπορεύθη ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ ὁδὸν ἡμέρας καὶ ἦλθεν καὶ ἐκάθισεν ὑπὸ ραθμ ἓν καὶ ᾐτήσατο τὴν ψυχὴν αὐτοῦ ἀποθανεῖν καὶ εἶπεν Ἱκανούσθω νῦν, λαβὲ δὴ τὴν ψυχήν μου. ἀπ' ἐμοῦ, κύριε, ὅτι οὐ κρείσσων ἐγώ εἰμι ὑπὲρ τοὺς πατέρας μου
וְהֽוּא־הָלַךְ בַּמִּדְבָּר דֶּרֶךְ יוֹם וַיָּבֹא וַיֵּשֶׁב תַּחַת רֹתֶם אחת

וַיִּשְׁאַל אֶת־נַפְשׁוֹ לָמוּת וַיֹּאמֶר ׀ רַב עַתָּה יְהוָה קַח נַפְשִׁי כִּֽי־לֹא־טוֹב אָנֹכִי מֵאֲבֹתָֽי׃
1Kgs 19:5
And he lay down and slept under a broom tree. And behold, an angel touched him and said to him, “Arise and eat.”
καὶ ἐκοιμήθη καὶ ὕπνωσεν ἐκεῖ ὑπὸ φυτόν, καὶ ἰδού τις ἥψατο αὐτοῦ καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ Ἀνάστηθι καὶ φάγε.
וַיִּשְׁכַּב וַיִּישַׁן תַּחַת רֹתֶם אֶחָד וְהִנֵּֽה־זֶה מַלְאָךְ נֹגֵעַ בּוֹ וַיֹּאמֶר לוֹ קוּם אֱכֽוֹל׃
1Kgs 19:6
And he looked, and behold, there was at his head a cake baked on hot stones and a jar of water. And he ate and drank and lay down again.
καὶ ἐπέβλεψεν Ηλιου, καὶ ἰδοὺ πρὸς κεφαλῆς αὐτοῦ ἐγκρυφίας ὀλυρίτης καὶ καψάκης ὕδατος· καὶ ἀνέστη καὶ ἔφαγεν καὶ ἔπιεν. καὶ ἐπιστρέψας ἐκοιμήθη.
וַיַּבֵּט וְהִנֵּה מְרַאֲשֹׁתָיו עֻגַת רְצָפִים וְצַפַּחַת מָיִם וַיֹּאכַל וַיֵּשְׁתְּ וַיָּשָׁב וַיִּשְׁכָּֽב׃
1Kgs 19:7
And the angel of the Lord came again a second time and touched him and said, “Arise and eat, for the journey is too great for you.”
καὶ ἐπέστρεψεν ἄγγελος κυρίου ἐκ δευτέρου καὶ ἥψατο αὐτοῦ καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ Ἀνάστα φάγε, ὅτι πολλὴ ἀπὸ σοῦ ὁδός.
וַיָּשָׁב מַלְאַךְ יְהוָה ׀ שֵׁנִית וַיִּגַּע־בּוֹ וַיֹּאמֶר קוּם אֱכֹל כִּי רַב מִמְּךָ הַדָּֽרֶךְ׃
1Kgs 19:8
And he arose and ate and drank, and went in the strength of that food fforty days and forty nights to gHoreb, the mount of God.

καὶ ἀνέστη καὶ ἔφαγεν καὶ ἔπιεν· καὶ ἐπορεύθη ἐν τῇ ἰσχύι τῆς βρώσεως ἐκείνης τεσσαράκοντα ἡμέρας καὶ τεσσαράκοντα νύκτας ἕως ὄρους Χωρηβ.
וַיָּקָם וַיֹּאכַל וַיִּשְׁתֶּה וַיֵּלֶךְ בְּכֹחַ ׀ הָאֲכִילָה הַהִיא אַרְבָּעִים יוֹם וְאַרְבָּעִים לַיְלָה עַד הַר הָאֱלֹהִים חֹרֵֽב׃
1Kgs 19:9
There he came to a cave and lodged in it. And behold, hthe word of the Lord came to him, and he said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”
καὶ εἰσῆλθεν ἐκεῖ εἰς τὸ σπήλαιον καὶ κατέλυσεν ἐκεῖ· καὶ ἰδοὺ ῥῆμα κυρίου πρὸς αὐτὸν καὶ εἶπεν Τί σὺ ἐνταῦθα, Ηλιου;
וַיָּבֹא־שָׁם אֶל־הַמְּעָרָה וַיָּלֶן שָׁם וְהִנֵּה דְבַר־יְהוָה אֵלָיו וַיֹּאמֶר לוֹ מַה־לְּךָ פֹה אֵלִיָּֽהוּ׃
1Kgs 19:10
He said, “I have been very ijealous for the Lord, the God of hosts. For the people of Israel have forsaken your covenant, jthrown down your altars, and kkilled your prophets with the sword, land I, even I only, am left, and they seek my life, to take it away.”
καὶ εἶπεν Ηλιου Ζηλῶν ἐζήλωκα τῷ κυρίῳ παντοκράτορι, ὅτι ἐγκατέλιπόν σε οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ· τὰ θυσιαστήριά σου κατέσκαψαν καὶ τοὺς προφήτας σου ἀπέκτειναν ἐν ῥομφαίᾳ, καὶ ὑπολέλειμμαι ἐγὼ μονώτατος, καὶ ζητοῦσι τὴν ψυχήν μου λαβεῖν αὐτήν.
וַיֹּאמֶר קַנֹּא קִנֵּאתִי לַיהוָה ׀ אֱלֹהֵי צְבָאוֹת כִּֽי־עָזְבוּ בְרִֽיתְךָ בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶת־מִזְבְּחֹתֶיךָ הָרָסוּ וְאֶת־נְבִיאֶיךָ הָרְגוּ בֶחָרֶב וָֽאִוָּתֵר אֲנִי לְבַדִּי וַיְבַקְשׁוּ אֶת־נַפְשִׁי לְקַחְתָּֽהּ׃
1Kgs 19:11
And he said, “Go out and mstand on the mount before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord passed by, and na great and strong wind tore the mountains and broke in pieces the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. And after the wind oan earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake.
καὶ εἶπεν Ἐξελεύσῃ αὔριον καὶ στήσῃ ἐνώπιον κυρίου ἐν τῷ ὄρει· ἰδοὺ παρελεύσεται κύριος. καὶ πνεῦμα μέγα κραταιὸν διαλῦον ὄρη καὶ συντρῖβον πέτρας ἐνώπιον κυρίου, οὐκ ἐν τῷ πνεύματι κύριος· καὶ μετὰ τὸ πνεῦμα συσσεισμός, οὐκ ἐν τῷ συσσεισμῷ κύριος·
וַיֹּאמֶר צֵא וְעָמַדְתָּ בָהָר לִפְנֵי יְהוָה וְהִנֵּה יְהוָה עֹבֵר וְרוּחַ גְּדוֹלָה וְחָזָק מְפָרֵק הָרִים וּמְשַׁבֵּר סְלָעִים לִפְנֵי יְהוָה לֹא בָרוּחַ יְהוָה וְאַחַר הָרוּחַ

1Kgs 19:12
And after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire the sound of a low whisper.
Or a sound, a thin silence
καὶ μετὰ τὸν συσσεισμὸν πῦρ, οὐκ ἐν τῷ πυρὶ κύριος· καὶ μετὰ τὸ πῦρ φωνὴ αὔρας λεπτῆς, κακεῖ κύριος.
וְאַחַר הָרַעַשׁ אֵשׁ לֹא בָאֵשׁ יְהוָה וְאַחַר הָאֵשׁ קוֹל דְּמָמָה דַקָּֽה׃
1Kgs 19:13
And when Elijah heard it, rhe wrapped his face in his cloak and went out and stood at the entrance of the cave. And behold, sthere came a voice to him and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”
καὶ ἐγένετο ὡς ἤκουσεν Ηλιου, καὶ ἐπεκάλυψεν τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ ἐν τῇ μηλωτῇ ἑαυτοῦ καὶ ἐξῆλθεν καὶ ἔστη ὑπὸ τὸ σπήλαιον· καὶ ἰδοὺ πρὸς αὐτὸν φωνὴ καὶ εἶπεν Τί σὺ ἐνταῦθα, Ηλιου;
וַיְהִי ׀ כִּשְׁמֹעַ אֵלִיָּהוּ וַיָּלֶט פָּנָיו בְּאַדַּרְתּוֹ וַיֵּצֵא וַֽיַּעֲמֹד פֶּתַח הַמְּעָרָה וְהִנֵּה אֵלָיו קוֹל וַיֹּאמֶר מַה־לְּךָ פֹה אֵלִיָּֽהוּ׃
1Kgs 19:14

1Kgs 19:15
And the Lord said to him, “Go, return on your way to the wilderness of Damascus. And when you arrive, you shall anoint Hazael to be king over Syria.
καὶ εἶπεν κύριος πρὸς αὐτόν Πορεύου ἀνάστρεφε εἰς τὴν ὁδόν σου καὶ ἥξεις εἰς τὴν ὁδὸν ἐρήμου Δαμασκοῦ καὶ χρίσεις τὸν Αζαηλ εἰς βασιλέα τῆς Συρίας·
וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה אֵלָיו לֵךְ שׁוּב לְדַרְכְּךָ מִדְבַּרָה דַמָּשֶׂק

1Kgs 19:16
wAnd Jehu the son of Nimshi you shall anoint to be king over Israel, and xElisha the son of Shaphat of Abel-meholah you shall anoint to be prophet in your place.
καὶ τὸν Ιου υἱὸν Ναμεσσι χρίσεις εἰς βασιλέα ἐπὶ Ισραηλ· καὶ τὸν Ελισαιε υἱὸν Σαφατ ἀπὸ Αβελμαουλα χρίσεις εἰς προφήτην ἀντὶ σοῦ.
וְאֵת יֵהוּא בֶן־נִמְשִׁי תִּמְשַׁח לְמֶלֶךְ עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵל וְאֶת־אֱלִישָׁע בֶּן־שָׁפָט מֵאָבֵל מְחוֹלָה תִּמְשַׁח לְנָבִיא תַּחְתֶּֽיךָ׃
1Kgs 19:17
And the one who escapes from ythe sword of Hazael zshall Jehu put to death, and the one who escapes from the sword of Jehu aashall Elisha put to death.
καὶ ἔσται τὸν σῳζόμενον ἐκ ῥομφαίας Αζαηλ θανατώσει Ιου, καὶ τὸν σῳζόμενον ἐκ ῥομφαίας Ιου θανατώσει Ελισαιε.
וְהָיָה הַנִּמְלָט מֵחֶרֶב חֲזָאֵל יָמִית יֵהוּא וְהַנִּמְלָט מֵחֶרֶב יֵהוּא יָמִית אֱלִישָֽׁע׃
1Kgs 19:18
abYet I will leave seven thousand in Israel, all the knees that have not bowed to Baal, and every mouth that has not ackissed him.”

καὶ καταλείψεις ἐν Ισραηλ ἑπτὰ χιλιάδας ἀνδρῶν, πάντα γόνατα, οὐκ ὤκλασαν γόνυ τῷ Βααλ, καὶ πᾶν στόμα, οὐ προσεκύνησεν αὐτῷ.
וְהִשְׁאַרְתִּי בְיִשְׂרָאֵל שִׁבְעַת אֲלָפִים כָּל־הַבִּרְכַּיִם אֲשֶׁר לֹֽא־כָֽרְעוּ לַבַּעַל וְכָל־הַפֶּה אֲשֶׁר לֹֽא־נָשַׁק לֽוֹ׃
1Kgs 19:19
So he departed from there and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen in front of him, and he was with the twelfth. Elijah passed by him and cast adhis cloak upon him.
καὶ ἀπῆλθεν ἐκεῖθεν καὶ εὑρίσκει τὸν Ελισαιε υἱὸν Σαφατ, καὶ αὐτὸς ἠροτρία ἐν βουσίν δώδεκα ζεύγη βοῶν ἐνώπιον αὐτοῦ, καὶ αὐτὸς ἐν τοῖς δώδεκα καὶ ἐπῆλθεν ἐπ' αὐτὸν Καὶ ἐπέρριψε τὴν μηλωτὴν αὐτοῦ ἐπ' αὐτόν.
וַיֵּלֶךְ מִשָּׁם וַיִּמְצָא אֶת־אֱלִישָׁע בֶּן־שָׁפָט וְהוּא חֹרֵשׁ שְׁנֵים־עָשָׂר צְמָדִים לְפָנָיו וְהוּא בִּשְׁנֵים הֶעָשָׂר וַיַּעֲבֹר אֵלִיָּהוּ אֵלָיו וַיַּשְׁלֵךְ אַדַּרְתּוֹ אֵלָֽיו׃
1Kgs 19:20
And he left the oxen and ran after Elijah and said, ae“Let me kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow you.” And he said to him, “Go back again, for what have I done to you?”
καὶ κατέλιπεν Ελισαιε τὰς βόας καὶ κατέδραμεν ὀπίσω Ηλιου καὶ εἶπεν Καταφιλήσω τὸν πατέρα μου καὶ ἀκολουθήσω ὀπίσω σου· καὶ εἶπεν ηλιου Ἀνάστρεφε, ὅτι πεποίηκά σοι.
וַיַּעֲזֹב אֶת־הַבָּקָר וַיָּרָץ אַחֲרֵי אֵֽלִיָּהוּ וַיֹּאמֶר אֶשְּׁקָה־נָּא לְאָבִי וּלְאִמִּי וְאֵלְכָה אַחֲרֶיךָ וַיֹּאמֶר לוֹ לֵךְ שׁוּב כִּי מֶה־עָשִׂיתִי לָֽךְ׃
1Kgs 19:21
And he returned from following him and took the yoke of oxen and sacrificed them and boiled their flesh afwith the yokes of the oxen and gave it to the people, and they ate. Then he arose and went after Elijah and assisted him.

καὶ ἀνέστρεψεν ἐξόπισθεν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔλαβεν τὰ ζεύγη τῶν βοῶν καὶ ἔθυσεν καὶ ἥψησεν αὐτὰ ἐν τοῖς σκεύεσι τῶν βοῶν καὶ ἔδωκεν τῷ λαῷ, καὶ ἔφαγον· καὶ ανεστη και επορευθη οπισω ηλιου και ἐλειτούργει αὐτῷ.
וַיָּשָׁב מֵאַחֲרָיו וַיִּקַּח אֶת־צֶמֶד הַבָּקָר וַיִּזְבָּחֵהוּ וּבִכְלִי הַבָּקָר בִּשְּׁלָם הַבָּשָׂר וַיִּתֵּן לָעָם וַיֹּאכֵלוּ וַיָּקָם וַיֵּלֶךְ אַחֲרֵי אֵלִיָּהוּ וַיְשָׁרְתֵֽהוּ׃ פ
